Between the cities of Trenčín and Nemšová, work is currently underway on a section of the cycle route as part of the cross-border project On a Bicycle in the Footsteps of History, on which the Trenčín County cooperates with the Moravian town of Brumov – Bylnice.

On the Slovak side, it will have a unique cycle route that will connect two sought-after historical monuments, Trenčín Castle and the castle in the town of Brumov – Bylnice , 24 kilometers away. "A separate new body of the cycle route will reach a length of 11.4 km , the rest will lead along existing roads. Its route starts behind the old railway bridge in Trenčín and leads under Zamarovka, Skalka nad Váhom, the motorway and will end at the swimming pool in Nemšová, " explained the Trenčín mayor Jaroslav Baška during the inspection day on Monday, June 17, 2019, stating that to the already existing cycle path leading up to the border with the Czech Republic.

Work on the cycle route is currently in the stage of earthworks and is taking place on the first 6 kilometers of construction. "In this part we have a dehumidified route and at the same time work is underway on two bridge structures across the Sučanka and Vlára watercourses. During the works, sections were identified where the subsoil is unsuitable, and together with the investor and the designer we are looking for a solution, “ said Jozef Chalupiansky, the contractor of the construction contractor. According to the mayor, TSK had a control report prepared by the University of Žilina, which verifies the correctness of the measured values of the bearing capacity of the subsoil and indicates the next procedure for decision-making. "If all goes well, we would like to complete this construction in the autumn of this year so that the cycling public can catch up with the end of the season," added the robe. The contractor's representative confirmed that under favorable climatic conditions and the prompt resolution of the subsoil problem, this deadline can be met.
