Exhibition Returns in Time / Czechoslovak Photography - 80s of the 20th century, the gallery reminds of a rare anniversary - 100 years, which have elapsed since the establishment of a common Czechoslovak state. And this is the 20th anniversary of the birth of the Slovak Republic.

Returns in Time / Czechoslovak Photography - The 80s of the 20th Century, is an exhibition of photographs that arose at the end of the eighties in the then Czechoslovakia. The works are an artistic probe into the study years of photographers - classmates and their paradoxically extraordinarily free and innovative view at the time of liberation. Their early works are considered so exceptional that they still surprise and have something to say to the current visitor. Intensive student life, the courage to create new themes, discover new ideas and artistic visions in the Czechoslovak photographic scene, focus on photographs that originated at that time and became a precursor to the other artistic direction of the authors.

The uniqueness of the prepared project lies beyond its undisputable artistic quality in the next, unexpected emotional plane. At one place, it is the work of Slovak and Czech classmates who have spent their studies together in Czechoslovakia in the Prague capital at the Academy of Performing Arts at the Department of Art Photography under the guidance of the inspiring pedagogue professor. Smok. And even today, after more than thirty years, they have lived friendly and creative bonds. Although each of the authors has always done and made their own projects, they have remained in active artistic and personal contact to the present.
