The year 2021 will be connected with the anniversaries of the birth and death of several great personalities of Slovak history, whose names are inextricably linked with the Trenčín Region.
In January of the new year, it was the 165th anniversary of the death of Ľudovít Štúr, a native of Uhrov. In March, we will commemorate 70 years since the death of the writer Ľudmila Podjavorinská, a native of the village of Bzince pod Javorinou. November 2021 will be the 100th anniversary of the birth of the leading figure of the Prague Spring - Alexander Dubček, who was also born in Uhrovec. The Trenčín Region is the birthplace of several important personalities , including the Greatest Slovak MR Štefánik and JM Hurban.
