35. Upper Nitra folklore festivities

Each folklore festival is a statement about our ancestors, embodied in songs, dances, folk clothing, crafts and shards of their customs. It is an unrepeatable imprint of the spirit of the people of the region. He entered his 35th year in Upper Nitra on June 23-25 and will then continue with the program from September 10 to 12, 2021. The main organizer of the festival is the Regional Cultural Center in Prievidza.

The jubilee 35th year is unconventional this year. Like other cultural events, the Upper Nitra Folklore Festival and its organization are marked by measures against the coronavirus pandemic. Nevertheless, the organizers prepared a rich program.

After the traditional program blocks, which took place in June, the Hornonitrianske festivities will continue from 10 to 12. September 2021 performances of children's folklore ensembles, children's folk music, folklore and singing groups in the House of Culture in Prievidza. All the programs of this year's festivities abandon mass performances in order to prevent the performing groups from meeting - either on or off the stage. The interesting thing about this year, which was created precisely for this reason, is that the joint composition In That Prievidza is composed by the sound engineer in the studio from the individual performances.

The Veselože program, directed by Eliška Hrbíková, will begin with a public recording on September 10, 2021. During the whole day you can look forward to cheerful children's folklore groups Malý Vtáčnik, Malá Lubená, Malá Sielnica, Chynoranček, Fialka, Bárka, DĽH spod Rokoša, DĽH ZUŠ Bojnice. The evening program Medajlón will belong to the well-known Upper Nitra folk music Beťári. The director of the program is Ľubomír Macek. During Saturday and Sunday, September 11-12, 2021, the stage of the House of Culture in Prievidza will belong to the Meeting program, directed by Stanislav Malega. The program will feature folklore and singing groups from all over Upper Nitra: FS Senior Vtáčnik, Fsk Vrchárka from Čavoja, Boršina from Nitrianske Sučany, Rokôška from Nitrianske Rudno, Oslianka from Osliany, Košovan from Kanianka, Bazalička from Ráztočna, Marinka from Novák, Hiček Chrenovca – Brusna, Krovinky from Veľká Lehôtka, Hôrky from Čerenian, Strážovanka from Zliechov, Sielnica from Lazian, Lieska from Liešťany, Nevidzianka from Nevidzian and Lubená from Poluvsia.

The overall tone of this year's festivities is much more intimate than in previous years - all their actors will certainly miss friendly meetings and a number of accompanying activities in the natural environment of the Prievidza forest park. However, the 35th year of the Upper Nitra Folklore Festival will transform this not very favorable situation for folklore into a value that will last by concentrating in cooperation with the Pajta film studio on high-quality video and sound recordings of performances by individual folklore groups in the region. them for future generations.
