Frozen Lopeník

In the tourist jargon, there is no bad weather, just a badly dressed tourist. In this spirit, our further tourism racing in the Trencin region was also coming. Since winter can not be relied on in the cold weather, we have also tested hiking trails that can be handled even in difficult, frozen conditions. Of course, proper confusion.

The surroundings of the Bošáčka Valley are well known especially for the production of slivovitz of exceptional quality. But just to stay with this delicious drink would be a pity for ever. The location a bit north of Nové Mesto nad Váhom is filled with many eye-catching pleasures. Come with us for their acquaintance.

Reporting stops will be several, so let's have a nice party. The first tourist destination is the Veľký Lopeník Hill (911 m above sea level). One of the highest hills of the White Carpathians crossing the Czech-Slovak state border, with a 22-meter high viewfinder.

A snow-drenched winter day begins in New Bošács. From the village center you can see blue tourist signs. The peak 5 kilometers away, with an elevation of 604 meters, also captures average average tourists, although they will get a little bit of a trip at the exit. The trail leads through the asphalt road to Grúň. For motorized tourists there is the possibility to save power and park the car in the village. There is a smaller car park at the SNP. The majestic sculpture of the partisans right here is definitely on the parked car. The journey continues through the sprawling houses, soon changing to a stony and later purely terrain.

Add the thermos

Approximately two hours of steep and mild terrain, depending on weather conditions, can be extended in winter. It is worth remembering to pack a warm-up thermos with warm tea and some of the honeycomb in the Christmas box. Alternately, we cut through the forest and deforestation slowly into a thicker forest. This is where the nice wooden shelter greets us. Walking through the dense forests, also suitable for experienced mountain bikers, we are slowly approaching the summit. The outlook this time hides a thick fog. Do not mind, milk haze and frozen needles all over the place give the trip a fairy tale.

On the top of Lopeník, we welcome a relatively large social space. See that the area is a favorite place for regular exits of Slovaks and Czechs. There are a number of benches, a buffet, a fireplace and an impressive monument

dedicated to the fallen Soviet soldiers, as the hill was the scene of major fighting during the Second World War.

"From twenty degrees to the thermometer more, we'd sit here," we'll note with humor. Common sense and solid blood in the veins will not allow us, so go upstairs. The output of a wooden, well-secured structure with a masonry base should be handled by children and those whose height is not reminiscent. And views? They are beautiful. Speak, when it is clear, even to the distant Little Fatra. The big plus on top of the viewfinder is the map on each of the world's pages, as well as the top spot you are looking at. The frozen nature, shrouded in a white cloud, the window to the dawn, but it still charmed us.

After a while, a pair of Czech tourists from Uherský Brod will be on the lookout. Just like us, I was here for the first time. The coats are warmed up together with hot tea. Still a few views of the panorama and we set out on the same route back to New Bošáce. To our surprise, on the way down, we meet other hardcore, runner and two bayers, determined athletes who do not even miss the training in these conditions.

The relaxation part of the trip is still postponed. Dying sunshine forces us to hurry to the next stop of our program - to Haluzicas. Going through the Bošáčka valley would be a pity not to stop in small villages, which also attract interesting things. In Zemiansky Podhradí stands the Memorial House of J. Ľ. Holuby and Ľ. Riznera or impressive evangelical church from the early Empire era. A bite down in Bošáci again attracts the Museum of Bošáčka valley and Bošácka pálenica. Well, we know that in advance of the people who once lived in the region and how the best Slovak plums were being prepared, they should be announced in advance.

Walking green on the tourist road, or by car on the same road, you can get to Haluzice from the center of Bošáce. The small village is known by the ancient ruins of the fortified church. Since there was not a castle or a fortification on the right side of the Váh, the church served as a short-term sanctuary in the troubled times of the wars. A protective stone wall with towers and fireworks stood around the church. The natural uniqueness, kilometer long, 200 meters wide, and 50 meters deep Haluzic Tiesanava stretches along the remains of the walls. It is also known under the names of Prierva or Hallucination. It was caused by the deep erosive activity of the Haluzik creek. Although it has partially prevented its deepening and the gorge at first sight acts harmless, in fact, it can be seen that it is still deepening and visibly growing in width. In 1963 it was declared a natural monument with the 4th degree of protection. Tiesňava will be especially interested in cascading puzzles, and you will discover both the bravado and the mysterious appearances. High walls and narrow bottom form a genuine canyon. From 2011, it is undergoing a modified circular forest walkway called Haluzická tiesňava. The visitor transmits not only the sprawling church itself, but also the adjacent area. There are several information panels that inform you of the route, sights and history of this place.

Beautiful view

Well, our trip is not over. Immediately opposite, on a small hill of Hájnica, stands an easily accessible, seven-meter-long wooden lookout. It offers nice views of the surrounding countryside, especially the White Carpathians, Považský Inovec and Bošácké Valley. There is an undemanding, kilometer long hiking trail leading from the general office, which can handle all the years without any problems. Haluzice's visit is a great tip for a short trip, also suitable for less able-bodied tourists. The green tourist signs can be reached Haluzice from adjacent Trenčianske Bohuslavice. After vibration activities, take a little respite, best for a good meal. So we look for a place where we can smell and hunger. By the way, we have a few restaurants, but restaurants are like saffron. Fortunately, the situation is saved by pension Žákovice on the edge of Trenčianske Bohuslavice. The home atmosphere and warmth of the interior will delight frosted visitors. As for the gastronomic experience, we can responsibly declare that the offer meets a higher standard. Together with the friendly staff, the guesthouse creates space for a pleasant stay. If you decide to spend several days in this region, it will be a good choice even for overnight stays.

The characteristic Bošáčka valley of the Bošáčka valley showed its winter face. He convinced us that he has something to offer in every season. Picturesque scenery, unique natural sceneries and historical monuments rank this site among the notable places not only of the Trenčín region. So, well dress up and mountains to take a trip!
