13.ROČNÍK HOROMIL FESTU NEBUDE NEŠŤASTNÝM

THE 13TH YEAR OF HOROMIL FEST WILL NOT BE UNHAPPY

Horomil Fest - a festival for all lovers of nature, travel, mountains and sports has been a permanent part of the cultural life of Považská Bystrica for thirteen years. During this period, the festival was visited by thousands of spectators and dozens of guests, such as Pavol Barabáš, František Kelle, Peter Hámor, Boris Filan, Martin Nikodým and many others. The organizers of the event - three friends Martin Holeš, Marek Janičík and Juraj Lukáš have prepared an inflated program for the audience this year as well.

ANDREJ BÁN OR CHATÁR FROM A LEGENDARY JOURNAL

Horomil Fest is already held classically at the end of September, September 23-25. 2021 in the premises of the Mier cinema in Považská Bystrica. From Thursday to Saturday, visitors will find not only engaging films, but especially lectures and discussions with attractive guests. Perhaps the most famous of them will be the Slovak reporter Andrej Bán, who will own the Saturday evening block. This top photographer and publicist, holder of the prestigious Crystal Wing award and especially a war journalist, focuses on areas affected by military conflicts and tells the audience his experiences not only from trips abroad, but also misses absurd events from Slovakia. However, Andrej Bán will also share the Saturday evening block with other guests: one of them is a climber, a mountain guide, a porter and, above all, a cottage from the famous Zbojnícka chalet in the High Tatras, Miki Knižka. Another equally interesting guest will be the famous Slovak influencer and filmmaker Patrik Paulínyi.

LA MANCHE SWIMMED

In Saturday's block, spectators can also look forward to a swimmer and hardy girl in one person - Soňa Rebrová. As one of the first women, she crossed the Danube in the crackling winter and was not afraid of the challenge, such as the relay across the English Channel, which she even completed in the Slovak record. And to make matters worse, this summer she decided to cross all the most famous reservoirs in Slovakia. An attractive guest on Friday night will also be the traveler Peter Dosedla, who visited all seven continents and more than a hundred countries. However, in addition to cult sites and historical monuments, it will not miss high-risk areas, including countries where civil wars and other violent conflicts are taking place. These are major travel challenges, such as North Korea, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Niger or Syria. And it is these countries that he will talk about during his lecture - but don't worry - with the right dose of exaggeration and humor.

HOROMIL FEST WILL BRING TWO FILM PREMIERE AGAIN

Horomil Fest viewers can also look forward to a good dose of films. And two of them will even have their festival premiere in Považská Bystrica! The first is a feature-length documentary, The White Carpathian Fruit Treasure, by Púchov director Jakub Cíbik, which talks about the protection of the original trees in the nearby White Carpathians. The second is the film "On Liberty around Slovakia", from a well-known party, which did not choose any foreign destination as its destination this year, but as the name suggests, stayed at home and bypassed Slovakia on old Liberta bicycles. The film is suitable for everyone who likes happier stories. Friday night will once again be dominated by an emotionally rich film by director Rasť Hatiar called Unwanted Self-Portrait, with which he has won several prestigious festivals. The documentary is about coping with the death of a friend of the film's author, who died during their joint performance in the Tatras. Secret and surprise, sometimes a small lesson can be experienced while watching the film The Path of SNP Heroes, when the famous influencer, Patrik Paylínyi, sets out on his own for the longest tourist route - the path of SNP heroes. But don't expect an orthodox documentary, Patrik is a guy who is not indifferent to the state of our country, and if he does not like something, he will reveal it.

PARENTS AND CONCERT OF RÓBERT FAPŠ AND TOMÁŠ BEZDED

Every year, Horomil Fest also gives space to travelers and athletes from the Považie region. One of the main topics of Thursday evening will be bicycles and MTB trails, which will be discussed at Horomil Fest by a couple known as Mountain Lovers. Bikers from Považská Bystrica hide under this brand: Juro and Daša. To ride MTB trails, they visited more than 30 countries on all continents, except South America and both poles, and prepared a presentation for Horomil consisting of the best experiences. For great success, even this year, spectators can look forward to, even two, small concerts or musical numbers. The first of them is mediated by Považská Bystrica Róbert Fapšo. He often draws inspiration for composing songs in nature, in Slovak folklore and while traveling. And Róbert will talk about his travels around the world on Thursday evening and the audience can look forward to a short concert by this well-known folk musician. And on Friday, the program will close another well-known name from the music environment - Tomáš Bezded. Few people know that this Žilina and former finalist of the first Superstar series, loves not only music but also nature and travel. These passions can be beautifully combined if you know how to do it. And that's exactly what Tomáš will tell us about, and he will also play a short concert.

FREE CLIMBING WALL AND ACCESSIBLE CAVES ABOVE DOMANIŽOU

However, the program of the Horomil Fest festival also consists of accompanying events, which are dedicated to the post-festival Sunday /26.9./ This year, for the first time, the underground above Domaniža will be opened, where the Brcove dziery cave has only recently been made accessible. Visitors will be accompanied by their discoverer Jaro "Brco" Galovič, who will also add a song from his repertoire. The cave will be accessible from 10 am, marked by a road from the square in Domaniža. Classically, the well-known Dúpna Cave is also open during the Horomil Fest. However, her parade is planned in cooperation with the cavers a week later: and thus 3.10. from 10 o'clock. In case of bad weather, these events will not take place. On Sunday, September 26, the HK Manín climbing wall, located in the Kaufland building behind the Mier cinema, will be open to all climbing lovers free of charge. It will be available free of charge from 10 am to 12 noon.

PANDEMIC MEASURES

The unstable development of the pandemic situation has forced the festival organizers to wait until the last minute for the festival program to be published, and precisely because it will be necessary to observe hygienic measures (towel or respirator worn indoors, use of hand disinfectant and adherence to spacing). Despite these reports, the organizers: Juro, Martin and Marek believe that the audience will find their way to their festival and that they will enjoy good films and attractive guests.
