Nosice Water Reservoir - The Ylace Water Dam is a spectacular water work , built in the 1950s as part of the post-war industrialization of Slovakia . Serious cascade .
More than 55,000 volunteers were involved in the construction, the construction also required the displacement of part of the flooded area . Today, the reservoir forms the landscape around the meanders of the original Váh river between Považská Bystrica and the village of Nosice.
A mineral spring was also discovered during the construction of the work, around which Nimnica Spa was built .
Today, in addition to its economic use , the dam has an important place in the entire ecosystem of the Váh as a shelter for river birds, plants and animals . It serves as a significant relaxation and recreation area for athletes , fishermen , cycling and swimming .
