The film tradition continues in Trenčianske Teplice

The 24th edition of the film festival, which featured more than 60 films, was presented in a new dress this year under the title International Film Festival Trencinian Teplice (IFFTT). The continuation of the event continues and the inhabitants of Trenčianske Teplice, the spa guests, students and film lovers from all over Slovakia have again enjoyed the cross-section of Slovak and foreign cinematography.

Trenčianske Teplice is firmly connected with the film. The long-running operation of the international festival did not match even a small change - the title of the event. From 23 to 26 June 2016, film screens in the various places of Trenčianske Teplice were brought to life by young and well-loved directors. The spa park has changed into a large relaxation zone with a touch of retro atmosphere. The lighted candlelight, the snack bar with snacks directly on the grassy area of the park, and a plethora of comfortable leisure bags made the movie even more pleasant.

In addition to the traditional theaters Prameň, Kursalon and Trenčín cinema Metro, the festival program also took place at the Zelená faba swimming pool. Visitors for the night screening were given a concert by singer Zuzana Smatanová . The band from the east of Slovakia, Chiki liki tu-a and the Fallgrapp musical group, played at the outdoor movie screen in the spa park. Through the untraditional "Digital Graffiti" project, young artists have unconventional art. The lines of the old power plant in Trenčianske Teplice were blurred with videomapping, and viewers could see how the building was digitally changing.

The film program of the festival was divided into four sections. The International Competition of Student Films - On the Way - presented 16 films of own production of students from Slovak and Czech film universities. Among the young artists' competitions, the main award - The Golden Frog - was taken by the student of film director Jakub Šmíd for a picture of the problem youth in the country called Amanitas. The "Our World" section focused on contemporary European and world film. The third section of the festival, "The Tribute to Actress Legend", was held by the French artist Catherine Deneuve this year. The circular 50th anniversary of the Bratislava Lyra music festival was devoted to the "Lyra Return" section . The main section of the film program was complemented by short pictures that convinced the audience that half-hour films can create an unforgettable experience. Accompanying events, in addition to musical concerts and new projects, featured interesting exhibitions and visual arts demonstrations.

Through the festival, organizers have been working for years to develop the knowledge of the world, but especially European cinematography. For 24 years, the festival has created a high added value of cultural life not only in the spa town of Trenčianske Teplice, but also throughout the Trenčín region. The event's promoter is the city of Trenčianske Teplice, and members of the IFFTT presidency are distinguished filmmakers Peter Hledík, Zuzana Kronerová, Kamila Magálová and Jiří Menzel . The importance of the festival was expressed by the art director of the festival Ľudmila Cviková: "In times when a festival is being created almost every day in the world, I consider it essential to preserve almost a quarter of a century of consistent and consistent tradition of the film festival in Trenčianske Teplice. Since its inception, the event has greatly enriched its cultural and social life annually in and around the city. "

The high-level IFFTT is also witnessed by celebrity film screenwriters who take part in the festival every year by placing a memorial plaque on the Bridge of Glory. This year's film weekend was enriched by her visit by actresses Chiara Mastroianni and Zdena Studenková . The Gold Camera Award was taken over by Hungarian director Béla Tarr and Slovakian screenwriter Marek Leščák . Chiara Mastroianni, daughter of French actress Catherine Deneuve and Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni, took over the memorial table on Saturday, June 25, 2016, in front of Hotel Most Slávy. During the ceremony she spoke to a large audience and greeted the visitors of the festival. The ceremonial handing over of the memorial table of the famous actress of French-Italian origin was accompanied by other important guests: the Mayor of Trenčianske Teplice Štefan Škultéty , the spiritual father of the festival Peter Hledík and the Slovak actors Ľubo Roman and Kamila Magálová . "I think this beautiful chamber environment belongs to this festival. I firmly believe that this tradition will continue and we will also be able to welcome some important personalities such as Chiara in the next year, "said actress Kamila Magálová.

The International Film Festival, beyond the quarter of its operation, has once again created an exceptional atmosphere. A weekend full of movies, concerts and entertainment has been attended by movie enthusiasts, spa guests, students or families with children. Significant support for this event was attributed to a number of partners, among others: the regional tourism organization Trenčianske Teplice, the regional tourism organization (KOCR) Trenčín region or Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj. As part of the festival and its accompanying program, visitors could stop at the KOCR Presentation Pavilion Trenčín region, where they could learn the hidden treasures of the Trenčian region, as well as prepared competitions or summer holiday events.
