On October 28, 2020, we commemorated the 205th anniversary of the birth of Ľudovít Štúr, an important national founder of standard Slovak.

By laying wreaths at the monument to Ľudovít Štúr, to the memorial plaque placed on the facade of the Birth House of Ľudovít Štúr and Alexander Dubček and to the grave of his father Samuel Štúr in the local cemetery, they commemorated this important anniversary in Uhrovec. Wreaths on behalf of the Trenčín self-governing region and the Municipality of Uhrovec, due to the current emergency situation caused by the pandemic of the coronavirus COVID-19, were laid by Ing. Zuzana Máčeková, mayor of Uhrovec and Mr. Dušan Čabrák, deputy mayor.

In the afternoon, a local radio broadcast of Ľudovít Štúr, a life and work of an important figure in our national history, was heard, thus interpreting his legacy, especially for the young generation. On the occasion of the 205th anniversary of Ľudovít Štúr's birth, an exhibition was installed and a discussion was prepared, which was to be presented in the Primary School with the Uhrovec Kindergarten. Due to the emergency situation and the measures issued by the Chief Hygienist, the discussion was postponed according to the development of the pandemic.

The birth house of Ľudovít Štúr and Alexander Dubček, which was declared a national cultural monument in 1965 and its founder is the Trenčín self-governing region - the Trenčín Museum, is currently closed to the public.
