100th anniversary of the death of Jozef Ľudovít Holuby

The Trenčín Educational Center, under the authority of the self-governing region of Trenčín, cordially invites you to a commemorative ceremony on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the death of Jozef Ľudovít Holuby (1836 - 1923), a world-renowned botanist, ethnographer, priest and leading representative of the Slovak national movement. The event will take place during the weekend of June 24 and 25, 2023 in the villages of Lubina and Zemianske Podhradie.

SATURDAY 24/06/2023, village of Lubina:

12:00 pm Opening ceremony • welcoming guests at the Evangelical parish

12:30 p.m. Museum visit • guided tour (Ing. Oľga Hrabovská)

1:30 p.m. Visit to the cemetery • placing flowers on the grave of Holuby's father

3:00 p.m. Meeting at Holuby's cottage on Veľká Javorina • laying flowers at Holuby's memorial plaque
