The discussion forum on the development of sport and the creation of sports opportunities included the construction of cycling routes and the realization of the first project of the Hockey Academy in Slovakia.

The Regional Hockey Academy project was crowned in 2017 by Richard Pavlikovsky, the former Ice Hockey Team, and President of the Slovak Ice Hockey Association (SZĽH), Martin Kohout. Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj (TSK) opened their doors to their initiative and, on the basis of a joint memorandum, the preparation of a new ice hockey project is in full swing at this time. As part of the Hockey Academy project, a new hockey hall will be set up in Trenčín, where the Government has already approved the construction of the Slovak Republic, amounting to approximately CZK 3 million. euros. "The project is not just about investing in the construction of a new sports stand, but also about the overall change in the educational concept of young sports talent. In other countries these projects are known, in Slovakia we are the first in the Trenčín self-government region. The education of young hockey players in our country needs attention and support, and I can also claim change of access. We want to give space to sportspeople who are dedicated to the hockey clubs in the region and have the potential. They will have the opportunity to study at the Hockey Academy from September 1, 2019 at the Secondary Sports School in Trenčín. The estimated cost of the project is 7 mil. EUR, including VAT, for the creation of a background, the construction of the hockey hall itself or the transfer of the necessary technologies. New opportunities for those who might not hockey otherwise

The development of hockey in the region also has the potential to attract more tourists or visitors every year, due to the great fan base of this sport.

Efforts to improve conditions for sport and for sporty youth are also closely related to the setting up of the budget of the self-governing region. About the "smart budget" during the discussion was the rector of the Trenčianská univerzita Alexandra Dubček in Trenčín Jozef Habánik, who is also the chairman of the financial committee at the representative office of Trenčiansky samosprávny kraj. I note, however, that the project is not only about the new ice area itself, but its essential part is also an effective model of education and development of the athlete's personality as a complex, " added the Rector.

From hockey to the construction of a cycle path that will connect two unique castles

The first kilometers of cycle paths from the Trenčín County Workshop were created in the region during the last year as part of the Megaprojekt of the Vágská cyklomagistrála. The current county is building another section of the cycle route, but this time with an international attribute. The cycling route is a part of the Bicycle project along the trail of history and will lead directly from Trenčiansky Castle to existing roads in the regional city. It will continue through the old railway bridge, after the newly built construction of the cycling route through Zamarovce and further below the most pilgrimage place in Slovakia; Skalka nad Váhom. From there, the body of the new cycle route will continue to Nemšová, where it will lead to the already existing cyclist, which leads up to the border with the Czech Republic. The project partner is TSK Brumov-Bylnice, which will connect the Brumov-Bylnice Bicycle Route on the Czech side.

The first kilometers of cycling trails are already in use to the public, others may be coming this year

Last year, the Trenčín County handed over the first two sections of the Weimar Cycle Magazine to the public. "We have built the first two sections, namely the 13.4 km stretch between Upper Middle and New Town over Vahom   and about 4 km long section of cycle path between Púchovo and Nimnica Baths. In January, we approved a project for the construction of another section at TSK Zastupitelstve, this time between Novy Mesto nad Vahom and Trencin , where we ask for funding from the European funds. This stretch is highly demanded by the public, as well as being able to work on a bicycle, " said the TSK bathrobe on how to build bicycle trails. "We would be very happy if we were able to start construction of the section Nové Mesto nad Váhom - Trenčín this year. "At present, work on project documentation is ongoing for two of the four sections of the cycle path, namely Partizánske - Zemianske Kostoľany - Prievidza. The outcome of this process should be the legally binding territorial decisions for the two sections that we could have available around the end of 2019, " said Radovan Hladký, who is in charge of the Transport Department at TSK.
