Almost on the border of the Trenčín region, just a few kilometers from Topoľčany, is Klátova Nová Ves. You will probably not find as many unique buildings in any village in the Partizánske district as in its territory.

The original name of this village was Hrdovič. Probably during the invasions of the Tatars, however, this seat was destroyed and the locals built new ones - Nova Villa, ie Nová Ves. Today it is a village that hides interesting churches, mansions, but also strongholds. Among them, the neo-baroque mansion from the middle of the 18th century stands out, surrounded by a large park. The church in Sádek, which was founded in the 12th century, also attracts attention. The dominant feature on Chríb Hill, which is already visible from afar, has undergone several reconstructions during its history. About 10 years ago, the church was restored, while the rare Gothic frescoes that adorn its presbytery have also been restored.

In the past, churches not only served as spiritual stalls, they also had a protective function. Most of the medieval ones, to which Sádok also belongs, are therefore surrounded by enclosure walls. In times of unrest, people hid behind them, or drove cattle behind them. They could also serve as a divide between the worlds of the living and the dead. For these were buried those who were not baptized, but also those who died of unclean death - they were drowned or executed.

The church in Sádek no longer works, believers now use the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary directly in the village. It was created by rebuilding an older temple, which destroyed the fire and struck lightning into the tower that remained after it. Right next to the church today there are two crypts, which according to experts are older than the building itself.
