Every able-bodied tourist who has decided to break through this region knows that the Trenčín region is proud of its majestic castles, monuments, enchanting nature and endless stories from history. However, if you have a taste for a real gourmet experience, it is a bit more challenging. After all - how many people, so many tastes. There is no time to waste time on food that does not evoke in you the interjection of pleasure. It's no secret that the right food can take the whole trip to the next level. Therefore, this article will not be devoted to hiking trails, but to the right edible paths.

We will start with the very heart of the region - Trenčín. In recent years, businesses and restaurants have sprung up in the city, from which even the most demanding tourist can choose. If you are one of those lovers of burgers who have a really high bar and do not become modest with a "chopper in the hand with a meatloaf", your steps will definitely go to Remy's bistro & pub, which won first place in the TOP GASTRO 2017 competition. plates, is a work of art for your taste buds. They use only the highest quality, often local ingredients, and when you look at photos on social networks, there will be no escape.

Do you want a vegan alternative? No problem! The family business Vegánsky gazda is still a novelty on the market, but their bistro has become one of the best rated in Trenčín. You may not even want to believe that this is a non-meat alternative. Another honest and well-rated establishment is Fair Street Food, where you can also enjoy special burgers, Indian delicacies and the famous pizza, whose dough is sinfully good and perfectly recognizable compared to the competition.

If you are looking for the hallmark of perfectionism combined with non-traditional tastes, you are looking for OYSHI sushi. From the interior, the staff to the food itself, the whole visit is one great experience, suitable not only for families, but also as an ideal place to warm up a potential business partner.

And what about coffee and a good dessert?

So there is really something to choose from. At every step you will find a wonderful space with a wide range. Coffee culture has a very strong background in Trenčín. Perhaps the most famous cafe is Café Sládkovič, suitable for romantic souls, but no less famous is the Coffee Sheep in the relocated premises. If you like Dutch style - high ceilings, large windows, industrial interior - you will feel fantastic.

We will travel from Trenčín to Bánovce. A visit to the Big Story is the right choice. The place has a youthful spirit, abounds in excellent food, coffee and desserts, pleasant equipment and you have to taste their specialties according to the season!

Bojnice have a lot to offer and it's a shame to fool them for just one day. If you are going on a longer trip, we recommend heading to the Meridiana complex's restaurant. You will be amazed not only by the beautiful interior, but also by the amazing food and friendly service. Popular cafes include the Spa Café with a dominant beautiful terrace and the My Cup of Coffee, in which you can also bake an honest bread.

However, also go to Prievidza for coffee. Caffetta's cafe is one of the local favorites, where they care about their tastes. 18 km from Prievidza, in Handlova, there is another award-winning establishment - Street food kitchen, which won a wonderful golden place in TOP GASTRO 2020. In Partizánske, the modern Azul restaurant with the stylish Baťák Brewery is worth a visit, which is sure to impress with its modern design and the unique atmosphere of its 700-year-old beer brewing tradition.

A visit to the football fields will definitely bring you a gastronomic experience. In Stara Myjava you will find the Na natoni restaurant, where you can taste traditional Myjava dishes and enjoy the exceptional atmosphere of the old "Margetia Cottage".

If you go from Trenčín towards Dubnica, make a stop in Kubrej. In addition to the popular Cuban water, in Pension Kyselka you can enjoy the best crawfish you have ever eaten. No kidding! Their crawfish are a poetic work. You get a round gem across two palms, with soft edges like the sky and a crunchy center. They never save on stuffing and cheese!

They are followed by Trenčianske Teplice, where you move ... well ... to the village in the Dedinka restaurant. The space has a fantastic atmosphere and serves excellent traditional food. Once you are in Teplice, don't miss the fresh, still warm Spa Wafers for nothing in the world. We boldly say that these are the best bath wafers you will ever taste. If you want something just in hand, in addition to wafers, they can be excellent homemade pancakes or loaves. You will find them in Zemanove lokše. We recommend trying their homemade jelly, pure meat, pure enjoyment.

Does anyone say ice cream? You can taste the best in Nová Dubnica in Velica. They also became the winner of TOP GASTRO in 2019. Once in vain, when someone's main ingredient is love, it's a sense. In Nova you can find great restaurants in Dubno or Elite.

However, this does not mean that you should just fly over Dubnica nad Váhom! We will end our gastronomic trip in Považská Bystrica. This place also has its own hamburger stand, which is called Burger Corner. However, you can also order nutritious poke bowls, salads or juicy steaks. The local corner started as a purely unwrapped shop, which later grew into a café, where you can also enjoy craft beers or a good cake. That atmosphere and beauty will get you!
