Opening of Trenčín Castle and branches of the Trenčín Museum

The Trenčín Museum, under the founding authority of the Trenčín self-governing region, has reopened its branches to the public since 19 April 2021. Certain restrictions and hygiene measures continue to be associated with the opening of the museum's facilities.

Trencin castle

Trenčín Castle will open its gates to the public on Friday, April 23, 2021. The castle will be open to visitors every day, ie Monday to Sunday from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm. The last option to purchase tickets for the castle at the main box office from the city will be at 6.45 pm. A small circuit (without a guide) will be accessible, which is extended by a tour of the southern fortifications. The last entry to the small circuit will be possible at 17.00. From Friday, April 23, 2021, the castle café will also be open.

A novelty is the opening of a new cash register on the reconstructed southern fortifications and the possibility of entering the castle from the Brezina forest park. Visitors will be able to buy tickets in this part of the castle daily from 11:00 to 18:00. At the same time, however, the Trenčín Museum warns that the gate on the southern fortification will be closed at 6 pm - entrance and exit.


In addition to the standard castle buildings with expositions, visitors will also see:

- a unique exhibition of pedal cars by car around the world,

- the exhibition The Farmer's Life (the exhibition is available only until April 25, 2021),

- an exhibition of 100 years of the Trenčín liqueur (the exhibition will be opened on 30.4.2021),

- and a magnificent southern fortification with a functional replica of a trebuchet.

Due to the elimination of the increased concentration of people at the box office, visitors are advised to purchase tickets online in advance HERE .

In addition to Trenčín Castle, the Trenčín Museum also opens other branches, as follows:

April 19, 2021

- County House in Trenčín (opening hours Monday to Friday from 9.00 am to 4.30 pm)

- Podjavorin Museum in Novo Mesto nad Váhom (opening hours Monday to Friday from 8.00 am - 2.00 pm)

April 23, 2021

- Constance / Karner St. Michal in Trenčín (opening hours Monday to Sunday from 9.00 am - 5.00 pm)

May 1, 2021

- Kúria Ambrovec in Beckov (opening hours of the exhibition Tuesday to Saturday from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm)

At the same time, visitors are informed that the Draškovič manor house in Čachtice will be closed in the 2021 season due to reconstruction. The objects Rodný dom Ľ. Are also temporarily closed for reconstruction works. Štúr and A. Dubček in Uhrovec and Kat's house in Trenčín. Information on their reopening will be published on an ongoing basis.

Entry into buildings and movement in interiors and exteriors will be possible only with the upper airways covered and with proof of a negative result of the COVID 19 test.
