Over the weekend one of the three most important folklore events in Slovakia took place in Myjava. Thousands of people have visited soccer, where the 57th International Folklore Festival and the European Traditional Culture Festival have already played. Organizers have a huge attendance with over 10,600 visitors.   As the weather came out, crowds of people wishing to indulge in the atmosphere of traditional culture broke into the grounds. The art and the variety of costumes of each region showed more than 1,500 performers from 4 continents. Apart from the Slovak ensembles, which represented almost all regions, folklorists from the Czech Republic, Serbia, Croatia, India, Mexico, Peru, Namibia and Egypt presented their culture.

In a typical MY-a-VY festival town, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year, visitors could taste regional gourmet specialties such as soups, bryndza halves, dill, poppy seeds, nuts, goulash, and other traditional delicacies. In addition to good food, visitors from the festival village also took part in the experiences and pieces of traditional culture in the form of folk narratives, theater performances and demonstrations of folk crafts.
