The cultural and social center in Prievidza invites you to remember a traditional ritual that is considered one of the most archaic customs. Thanks to folklore, it has been preserved until today. Two weeks before Easter, we say goodbye to winter, burning Morena, the Old Slavic goddess of winter and death .
The customs associated with saying goodbye to winter, welcoming spring and burning Morena will be presented to you by members of the DFS Malý Vtáčnik folklore group on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 3 p.m. on Mierov námestí, opposite the Baník Prievidza Cinema and later on the bridge over the Nitro river. In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Sunday, April 2, 2023.
