Photo competition "Trenčiansky kraj cez fotoobjektív" from the regional organization of tourism (KOCR) Trenčín Region recognizes its winners. The competition ran from 15 June to 31 October 2016 and could involve both professional and amateur photographers.

The expert committee, which assessed the competition photographs, was professional photographers from the Trenčín Region. Radovan Stoklas, Pavol Obst and Milan Gross met at the headquarters of the KOCR Trenčín Region and together they selected the winning photos. The selection panel considered a number of factors. It was not only a professional technique, but also an idea and the overall impression of photography. The photos were divided into three competition categories. The first category was castles, castles and cultural monuments in the Trenčín region. In the second category, nature photography was appreciated, and the third was rated by snapshots from various events in the region.

"We have selected 886 photos from 178 competing photographers. The selection was not easy because many quality pictures were submitted. But after more than 2 hours of intense photo viewing and a passionate discussion, we have chosen the winners. In one category, we have also been exceptionally honored, " said Radovan Stoklas.

In the category of castles, castles and cultural monuments , Jozef Sádecký (1st place), Michal Martiš (2nd place) and Miroslav Hambalek (3rd place) received the awards. In the second category - the prize winners were Daniel Kopunec (1st place), Lukáš Kubičina (2nd place) and Lukáš Hollý (3rd place). In the category of snapshots of the events , the winners were Ján Plachý (1st place), Vladimir Ronec (2nd place), Peter Savko (3rd place) and Honorary mention was given to Romano Holému.

The KOCR Trencin region and the winners of the photo competition won attractive prizes. 9 major prizes were awarded, representing 3 places in each category and 1 extra prize for honorable recognition from the jury. Winner of each category won an Apple smartphone . Contestants placed on the second floor received vouchers for the Trenčianske Teplice Spa and the winners of the third places were endowed with vouchers to the Saunas World at Spa Zelená faba.

  Photographs submitted to the photo competition will be used to promote the tourist attractions of the Trenčín region, through the KOCR Trenčín region, the "Trenčín region" quarterly, printed promotional materials, publications or PR articles. " The contestants have the opportunity to contribute to the presentation of the Trenčín region and to the promotion of its natural, cultural and historical attractions " , he added, drawing on the essence of the photo competition Juraj Gerlici , the chairman of the KOCR Trenčín region.
