Get to know Bazovsky

The MA Bazovský Gallery in Trenčín, in cooperation with Pavel Múdry, has prepared a series of lectures for you connected with discussion and creative tasks. Within the group program, it is also possible to take an annotated tour with a frontal explanation, which, however, cannot be combined. Each of the programs lasts 45 minutes and can be combined with each other.

Let's not be afraid of art! Bazovsky paintings

Prerequisites: Designed for people who do not know the work of MA Bazovský and do not pay much attention to art. However, they would like to know at least basic information about his works.

What is a composition or theme of an image? How do artists work with light and shadow in their paintings, and why don't modern paintings resemble reality? Joint research on the paintings of Miloš Alexander Bazovský in the program Let's not be afraid of art! through group discussion and comparison, they should acquaint visitors with basic artistic terms, teach them to look at paintings and show them how to use them for their own interest.

Why are rural themes depicted in most works by Bazovsky? How did Bazovský learn all this and who were his artistic friends or rivals? Understanding the time in which Miloš Alexander Bazovský painted is important for understanding the reason why he actually painted and why he painted just as he painted. By comparing with paintings from other Slovak authors through discussion, it is possible to learn not only about what the then artistic community in Slovakia looked like, but also the overall historical picture.

The playful discussion and comparison of the paintings with world works offers an insight into the changes that this period brought and with which artists in Slovakia also dealt with.
