13th year of the ascent of the municipalities to Magura

The May opening of the tourist season will start in the upper Ponitrí in the order of the 13th year of the joint ascent of the municipalities to Magura. The route is known, everyone is welcome.

It starts on May 4, 2019 at 8.00 am from Urbárská krčma in Poruba. However, participants must register with the relevant municipal authorities by 24 April, in particular to provide refreshments at the Cottage in Rovno. Transportation is individual. The main organizer of the star output is the village of Poruba, which is also supported by the municipalities of Lazany, Seč, Kľačno, Nedožery - Brezany, Nitrianske Pravno, Kocurany, Kanianka, Malinová, Tužina, Poluvsie, Nevidzany, Čavoj, Chvojnica and Temeš. Tourists will receive refreshments in the form of goulash near Chata na Rovni about halfway and then it is just over an hour to the top of Magura with its dominant in the form of a 5.2 m high cross with the coat of arms of the village of Poruba. The ascent to the second highest hill of the Strážovské vrchy (1141 m above sea level) annually connects the inhabitants of Upper Nitra.
