More than half of the 21.2 km long cycle route that connects the regional town of Trenčín with the district town of Nové Mesto nad Váhom has been built. This is the longest section of the Vážská cycle route.

According to the contract, the cycle route should be completed by the end of March next year. The county wants to open the cycle route in the spring of next year before the new season. Finances in the amount of 4.2 mil. EUR come from the Integrated Regional Operational Program.

The three-meter-wide cycling route will also include three rest areas. "The road structure is built for medium-heavy loads, it consists of gravel, cement concrete stabilization and two layers of asphalt. Its advantage is that it is powered by the existing cycle routes in Trenčín and also by the already built section between Nový Mesto nad Váhom and Horná Streda, " emphasized Anton Boc, the main construction manager and head of the STRABAG operating unit in Trenčín.
