Works full of loving humor, which lack lessons, have a common author - Ľudmila Podjavorinská, whose real name is Riznerová. Today, there is a museum in her birth house in Bzince pod Javorinou. You will learn not only a lot of information about the life and work of a popular writer, but also what she had to face before she finally became an acclaimed writer.

"As a child, she was small, petite, often sick. She attended only six classes at her father's school, who was a teacher there. Her dream was to become a postman. However, she liked to read very much, thanks to which she was educated as a university student, "said the museum administrator Ivan Mrázik. In the birth house of Ľudmila Podjavorinská you can also see the table at which she read and wrote as a child. Her father was very angry when he caught her at night. He was not inclined to her desire for education and, in addition, Ľudmila had vision problems. As a child, she became ill with smallpox, which also hit her eyes. Therefore, she saw one of them very poorly, later after the operation she came completely.

Today, the Podjavorinská Museum is visited mainly by school groups, but often representatives of the older generation also visit it. They may be interested in the original kitchen of the Rizner family or the living room with furniture that the writer had in her apartment in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Exhibited here are her well-known works and collections of letters that she wrote with the then greats of Slovak literature - from Kukučín to Hviezdoslav. "She was one of the first women to start writing at that time, and I think it remains in the minds of many readers to this day," Mrázik concluded.
