International Folklore Festival Myjava 2023

We cordially invite you to the 63rd edition of the International Folklore Festival MYJAVA 2023, which will take place from 14 to 18 June 2023.

This year will be carried in new colors and patterns. Thematically focused this time on FRAGMENTS - Ancient cultural phenomena that are still recurring today.

However, the fragment as an idea will also appear in other programs of this year's festival. Motives and entire themes of Slovak folk songs composed by serious music composers will be heard on Saturday morning in the church. The Saturday thematic program will show the remnants of dances and ceremonies of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance hiding in the folk dance tradition in Slovakia even in the 20th century. Shards from the rich clothing culture of Myjava and its surroundings will be brought closer by an exhibition of artistic photographs of traditional clothing in front of the amphitheater.
