Bojnický svetlonos at the castle

The Slovak National Museum - Bojnice Museum offers on November 1-3, 2018, a non-traditional sightseeing tour with a night-time castle with autumn decorations and rozkiarené tekvicami.

Thematic tours take place at the start of 19.00 h. Who or who is Svetlonos? Once upon a time, people believed in a mythical, fairytale being that led people in their light. Their tradition follows the Old Celts, who believed that the dead souls were returning to the ground on the last day of October. To protect against these spirits, they used light, which they later transferred to the carved pumpkins. This light meant for them the certainty of all living before the dead. The visitors of the Bojnice Chateau can revive the old tradition even during the next weekend.
