WAKING UP THE DRAGON 2017

The dragon wakes up on the island of Trencin! We invite you to the next year of dragon boat races.

Dragon Boat Races are a popular sporting event that strengthens the sporting spirit and is designed for both professional and amateur racers. The name of the ship is derived from the Chinese god of waters - the dragon, it is 12.5 m long and conceals 20 paddlers, 10 left and 10 right. The crew is complemented by a rudder-mounted helmsman and a drummer sitting on a high chair in the front, whose blows to the drum indicate the rhythm of paddling. On Saturday, amateur crews of municipalities or companies will compete, as well as professional performance teams. In addition to the races, a rich accompanying program for live music or children's attractions is prepared for visitors.
