2nd year of the Czech-Slovak journey from Skalka to Velehrad

The successful first year of the Czech-Slovak journey from Skalka near Trenčín to Velehrad will be followed by the continuation of the event, on Tuesday, August 18, 2020.

After a year, the pilgrims will meet at the oldest pilgrimage site in Slovakia, at Skalka near Trenčín, to set out on marked sections of the Cyril and Methodius Road to Velehrad. The current year will bring a few changes compared to last year. The daily sections will be shortened, so families and their children can handle the journey. An accompanying vehicle will also be provided for participants. Less than 90 km from Skalka along the marked Cyril and Methodius route through the enchanting region of the Žitkov goddesses in the White Carpathians, then through the spa town of Luhačovice to Uherské Hradiště and then to Velehrad awaits the participants. Expected arrival at the destination is Saturday, August 22, 2020.

The beginning of this year's journey will be St. Mass, which will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at 8.00 in the Church of St. Andreja - Svorad and Beňadik on Mala Skalka. Part of St. Mass will be the blessing of pilgrims.
