Samko Dudík - you get through the time

Violin master, singer, dancer, you also receive collectors of Myjavan songs and their interpreter. Samko Dudík was a unique personality of traditional folk culture. His talent, which overcame his native region and the time he lived in, is amazed even today.

Samko Dudík survived several state regimes. He was born in the Austro-Hungarian Empire on October 28, 1880 in Myjava's family of bagpipers. His folklore dragged him out of childhood, like a five-year-old boyfriend of his own huslians, as a ten-year-old boy and a children's band with his brothers. Later, they joined a group of well-known Gypsy primates, Jozef Balaj and Višňovský. Samko, from the musicians he met here, created his own band with whom he played almost all his life.

The legendary prize captivated your talents with several personalities. One of them was young Milan Rastislav Štefánik, who in 1897 at the wedding of his sister he heard Dudík's band. Samko was a confessor of all-sex reciprocity and his music was abused at every major meeting in the Slovak-Moravian area. He participated in the protest action against the Blacks events in 1908, and the Dudíkovci also played at the Všeslavovansky skifa five years later.

The creator of the film Sings Karol Plicka or the writers Ladislav Novomestsky and Ján Smrek - Samko Dudík liked to move among the artists. An exceptional musician raised his interest in instrumental folk music throughout Moravia and promoted it at home and abroad. He even played with the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. His talent was also ignored by the Czech composer Leoš Janáček. Dudíkovcov delegated to the World Music Festival in Frankfurt am Main they won.

Samko's more than 70-year-old musical performance was full of compelling music. He has not even been involved in his personal life - he has been married three times and has 12 children. He died on May 25, 1967, on Myjave. In his footsteps continues his grandson Miroslav Dudík and also the great-grandmother Alžběta Lukáčová, who wrote about her ancestor the monograph Samko Dudík and his band.
