The first October is listed as World Cycling Day in the calendar. It was not by chance that this was the fifth year of Open Doors Day (DOD) at the Trenčín Self-governing Region (TSK). After two years, which were devoted primarily to the environmental project Green County, so did the popular sport.

For the fifth time, visitors and the general public, on Monday, October 1, 2018, had a chance to look at how TSKs look like or to understand the activities and competencies of individual departments and departments. The tour of the building was complemented by a rich cultural program and presentation of organizations in the founding company of the Trenčín County.

The day kicked off by Martin Behro - a multiple champion of Slovakia and the European Cycling Champion of Europe. During his performance, the visitors were surprised by the fantastic pieces that the young athlete presented at the reception at the TSK building.

Amusement program for both small and large

The presentation of the Regional Tourism Organization (KOCR) Trenčín Region was also part of the prepared temptation program. The regional organization has played in a playful way the attention of people to discover the unique places in the Trenčín region. Both children and adults had the opportunity to receive various donations and promotional materials from the KOCR Trencin region for successfully completing several tasks.

The quiz "How do you know Trenčiansky kraj" was prepared to test the knowledge. The choice of difficulty from the beginner to the professional gave the opportunity to join not only the smallest but also the well-known traveler and explorer of the Trenčín region. The more experienced they could jump on the blind map, where magnets showing the cultural monuments of the Trenčín region were placed. Pleasant moments were also awaited by contestants who were involved in an amusement-educational social game for both small and large.

The presentation of the currently implemented project - the "Trenčiansky region is playing colors" - is focused on collecting and awarding the best photographs from the autumn period, capturing the beauty of the Trenčín region.

According to Juraj Gerlici , chairwoman of the regional tourism organization, people are also able to orientate geographically as well as cultural through these educational games. "Thanks to the games that KOCR Trenčín Region offers at various presentation sessions, visitors are raising their awareness of the Trenčín region in a playful and natural way that is suitable for the youngest but also adults. During the Day of Open Day, people were interested and enjoyed every single win. We appreciate the feedback very positively, and we believe the games have stimulated their creativity or appetite for adventure and the recognition of our region. "  

Program not only for athletes

At this year's Open Door Day, visitors had the opportunity to see demonstrations from a secondary school that demonstrated how the 3D printer or robotic arm works. There was a historic fire brigade, a tricycle and, last but not least, an outdoor craft market. Many exhibitors took part in the DOD for the first time. Such as the Pardubice Observatory , SAD Prievidza, and also the author's reading or fashion show.

The last point of the program was the excellent singing performance of the young superstar Jakub Pružinsky . Cycling 5th year The open door of the TSK was thematic and it was the first ride of the Trenčiansky župan after the second section of the Váží cyklomagistrály. The company was made by the head of the Zlín Region, Jiří Čunek, the director of the tourist headquarters of East Moravia Petra Psotková and the executive director of KOCR Trenčín region Eva Frývaldská.
